What we take on
We are a building company rather than a specialist in one trade, which means most of our work is a whole project rather than a single job. In practice that falls into four kinds of work.
Extensions
Single-storey rear, side-return, wrap-around and double-storey. On a terrace the side return is usually where the space is; on a semi or detached house there is normally more choice. See extensions.
Loft conversions
Dormer and hip-to-gable, typically producing a double bedroom with an en suite. The two things worth checking early are head height and where the stairs can land without losing a bedroom below. See loft conversions.
Renovations
Whole houses taken back and rebuilt: rewire, replumb, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, joinery and decoration, often alongside an extension or loft so the house is finished in one programme. See renovations.
Structural and design work
Steels, removing chimney breasts, opening up ground floors, and the drawings and calculations that go with them. See construction and design.
How we work
The first visit is free and is a survey rather than a sales call. You get a written quote broken down by element, not a single figure. We handle building control and structural calculations as part of the job, and you deal with the same people from start to finish rather than a job passed to subcontractors we have never worked with.
